A new multi-story, street-facing commercial development housing corporate, residential and institutional tenants replaced an obsolete two-story retail bank and surface parking lot. The building configuration created an interstitial open space, which Miguel Hastings designed as a flexible courtyard capable of accommodating programmed events, functioning as an urban plaza, or serving as a contemplative pocket park. The space connects to the primary street frontage and to the rear parking area through a landscaped pedestrian corridor anchored by a commissioned public art installation.
